At Royal Far West School (RFWS) we strive to help every child achieve their potential, whatever their circumstances. This is a very challenging aspiration and can only be achieved by collaboration with all involved.
Royal Far West
We work in close collaboration with the wonderful Royal Far West (RFW) clinical services. We have a shared passion to strive to ensure that our children are well, happy and achieving their best no matter where they live and no matter what challenges they face.
The collaboration includes planning, classroom observation, educational assessments and clinical case conferences. Clinicians are always welcome partners in our classrooms. School and clinical staff regularly take part in video conferences with rural schools, parents and other involved services.
Our partnership with RFW is at the heart of better outcomes for our shared clientele.
Sounds, Words, Aboriginal Language and Yarning (SWAY)
SWAY is an oral language and literacy program based on Aboriginal knowledge, culture and stories. It has been developed by educators, Aboriginal education officers and speech pathologists at the Royal Far West School in Manly, NSW.

A key focus of the program is to provide practical training and mentoring to build the capacity of teaching staff. SWAY is delivered within rural and remote schools and preschools throughout NSW.

Our families and carers
We work closely with parents and carers. All children who come to RFW clinical services must be accompanied by a parent or carer so we are in a wonderful position to truly engage and empower our families.
