Georgia (Psychologist)

Working at RFWS is such a unique and uplifting experience. Being able to meet young people and their families from all over the state allows me to learn just as many new things as the students! The incredible staff members are so supportive and experienced at what they do and allow each student to feel valued and have an enjoyable time whilst they are visiting Manly.

Joanne (Speech pathologist working with the SWAY team)

I feel incredibly privileged to have worked on the SWAY program since its inception.  From its early beginnings at the Bourke EYTC and Bowraville P.S., it is now shared over 30 sites.

Building relationships is important, and I enjoy work closely with educators to help them support children with communication difficulties.   With Arnie the puppet (my trusty wingman), I link in remotely to deliver the SWAY Targeted Intervention program to preschools/schools across NSW.

Bronwyn (Speech Pathologist working with the SWAY team)

As a speech pathologist, my professional journey has mostly centred around supporting children and families from diverse linguistic backgrounds. Although I’m a city girl myself, I come from a family of country teachers, so I have a deep appreciation for education beyond city limits. Joining SWAY in 2015 presented an exciting opportunity to learn about and work with Aboriginal languages and dialects.

During my time in the SWAY team, I have had the privilege of collaborating with a wonderful group of clinicians and educators. Together, we have worked to augment the enriching language and literacy activities in the classroom and promote development in these areas to ensure that every child achieves their full learning potential. I remain committed to this work, which helps empower children to thrive academically.
